It is a project to be developed in the industrial area of Valencia consisting of five warehouses and an office and commercial building. The buildings are designed with a metal structure.
The structure of the sheds contains multiple eleven-meter sections with a sloping roof, and the beams are made up of trusses composed of angular profiles to provide support for a light roof. The trusses have rigid moment connections to the columns and at their bases, avoiding the use of vertical bracing as requested by the client. Horizontal bracing was provided on the roof to guarantee the necessary rigidity and resistance produced by the lateral actions of wind and earthquake. The structure corresponding to the commercial building is arranged in an orthogonal system of axes made up of laminated profiles forming special moment frames. The floor and ceiling slabs are made up of a “Losacero” type mixed slab, with shear connectors welded to the purlins to guarantee that the elements that compose it work as a composite section, increasing the resistance of the purlins.
