The design premise for the pavilions was to generate two volumes of equal dimensions with fairly neutral characteristics, which did not compete with the landscape project prepared by the renowned architect Andrés Tabora. The project consists of two commercial buildings located in an important landscape development, where the aim is to implement neutral geometries while maintaining the prominence of the landscape elements such as water spaces, paths and planters.
A structure with tubular profiles was proposed, optimizing the arrangement of columns with the purpose of limiting the height of the beams, allowing harmonious integration with the architectural requirements.
The structure is specified with an anticorrosive paint with a high level of protection in view of its exposure to the environment and proximity to the coast.
The columns are filled with poor concrete and supported on a continuous foundation slab, stiffened between the supports through beams integrated into the slab.
In the supports there is a thickening of the slab that allows the reinforcement plates to be covered in the base, so that a flat surface remains, allowing the anchor bolts to be placed at an adequate length in order to develop moment resistance in the base.
