Seismic and structural evaluation, code compliance check (limit states and performance in service) of an 8-story reinforced concrete hospital building with a seismic isolation system. An analytical model was developed based on the supplied plans, incorporating the insulation system in the base, consisting of a succession of insulators (LBR) and insulators (NBR). The structural configuration was optimized allowing a 10% reduction in the initial cost estimated for the public acquisition offer.
